Elizabeth English (D Phil) teaches meditation at Cambridge University. As the University’s first Mindfulness Practitioner, her mindfulness courses were the subject of research (published in The Lancet PH, December 2017) showing significant benefit to students.
Elizabeth draws on over four decades of personal meditation practice, her ordination within a Western Buddhist tradition as well as her masters and doctoral research at Oxford University, studying Buddhist meditation texts.
She is a certified teacher of Mindfulness, Focusing, Somatic Experiencing (trauma therapy) and Nonviolent Communication, and runs her own consultancy: www.elizabethenglish.life
She lives in Cambridge with her cocker spaniel, Cherub – whose ‘Mindful Puppy Diaries’ appear in nine short episodes on video, to entertain and delight. When she isn’t teaching or writing, Elizabeth enjoys singing classical song, historical fiction, and walking her dog.
